He was brought up in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
He gained critical acclaim for his role as a reformed naxalite in the film Gamyam, which became one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of its year.
He has appeared in over 1000 episodes of television serials including Pavithra Bandham and Kalavari Kodalu across four and a half years.
