Former Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling called upon Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party workers to join him in rebuilding the party as a strong political force in the state. He criticized the current government led by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang for failing on multiple fronts and asserted that SDF is the only party capable of ensuring security, development, and safeguarding Sikkim's unique identity. The SDF, which governed Sikkim for 25 years from 1994, currently has no MLAs in the state assembly after several leaders joined the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha since 2024.
