Om Swami was born in 1979 in Chandigarh to a middle-class Brahmin family as the youngest of three siblings.
From a young age, he showed interest in spirituality, learning Vedic chanting and astrology at age 11, and became a professional astrologer in his teenage years.
In March 2010, at age 30, he renounced his wealth, meditated in solitude for 13 months in the Himalayas, and established Sri Badrika Ashram in Himachal Pradesh.
