La. Ganesan, Governor of Manipur and additional charge Governor of West Bengal, passed away on August 15, 2025, at the age of 80. He sustained a head injury in a fall at his residence on August 8 and was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai. He was admitted in an unconscious state, and despite intensive medical care, he passed away at 6:23 pm.
