Facts	Janakinath Bose was the father of Subhas Chandra Bose and Sarat Chandra Bose, who were prominent freedom fighters and national leaders of India. In 1885, he joined the lawyer association at the court of Cuttack, where he practiced his work and became a prestigious lawyer. He was appointed as Government Pleader by the British government and later given the title as ‘Rai Bahadur’. He received his B.A. degree in 1882 and B.L. (Bachelor of Law) degree in early 1884. He worked as a lecturer at Albert College in 1883 and as headmaster at Joynagar Institution for about nine months in 1884. He later renounced the title of Rai Bahadur as a form of protest.
