1. Captain Kapil Kundu was a young cadet in the Indian army, having completed his training at the National Defence Academy (NDA).
2. Prior to joining the army, he was preparing for IIT and received coaching from FIITJEE Janakpuri in New Delhi.
3. In 2012, he tragically lost his father to a heart attack on his birthday.
4. On 1 February 2018, Captain Kapil Kundu, along with three other soldiers, Riflemen Ramavatar, Subham Singh, and Havilder Roshan Lal, were martyred when Pakistan initiated firing in the Rajouri district of Jammu & Kashmir.
5. Captain Kapil Kundu enjoyed adventure and expressed his experiences through poetry.
6. One of the quotes he shared on his Facebook account was, "Life should be big, not long."
7. On 4 February 2018, Captain Kapil Kundu, along with three other soldiers, Havildar Roshan Lal, Rifleman Subham Singh, and Rifleman Ramavatar, were martyred when Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked firing using small arms, mortars, and anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) on Indian posts in Bhimber Gali sector of Rajouri district, Jammu & Kashmir.
