Bajrang Punia's father, Balwan Punia, passed away in a private hospital in Delhi after a prolonged illness. Balwan Punia, a former wrestler himself, was instrumental in Bajrang's early training and career. His last rites were performed in his native village of Khudan in Jhajjar district, Haryana.
