OverviewKapil Kak is a former Indian Air Marshal who served the flying branch of the Indian Airforce for 35 years. He was involved in various wars and served in different capacities within the Air Force. He rose to the rank of Air Vice Marshal, commanded the Operational Air Force Wing at Agra from June 1984 to January 1986, served as Directing Staff and later Head of the Air Force at Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, was India's Defence Attaché in Thailand from 24 January 1986 to 25 June 1989, and was elevated to Air Vice Marshal on 21 March 1994. He was the founding Additional Director of the Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS) in New Delhi, serving until 2012 as Deputy Director, and has been a former Deputy Director at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses and Advisor (Strategic Studies) at the University of Jammu.
