2. He grew up in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, in a well-to-do family.
3. Sivagnanam enrolled at the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu on 10 September 1986 after obtaining a bachelorโ€™s degree in law.
4. He started his legal practice with senior advocate R. Gandhi.
5. After 14 years as an advocate, he became the Additional Standing Counsel of the Central Government.
6. Sivagnanam also served as the Counsel for Southern Railway and a senior panel advocate for the Central Government.
7. In 2007, he was nominated as a panel lawyer for the High Court of Judicature at Madras.
8. He later served as a senior panel lawyer for Customs & Central Excise Department and as the Special Counsel for the Department of Revenue.
9. Sivagnanam became an Additional Judge at the Madras High Court on 31 March 2009 and a permanent judge two years later.
