Trained initially in Carnatic music by Sri Mangat Natesan and Sri Vamanan Namboodiri in Thrissur.
Later trained in Hindustani music under Dr. Alka Deo Marulkar in Pune and Pandit Vinayaka Torvi in Bangalore.
Playback singing debut with “Deena Dayalo Rama” for Arayannangalude Veedu (2000), music by Raveendran.
Won Kerala State Film Award for Best Singer for “Enthe Nee Kanna” in Sasneham Sumithra (2004).
Sang over 500 movie songs, mainly in Malayalam cinema.
Contributed to Ilayaraja's album Thiruvasagam released by Sony Music.
Served as jury member for reality show Super Star Global on Amrita TV.
Anchored ghazal show Khayal on Media One TV.
Withdrew from film music industry since 2017 to focus on ghazals and Hindustani classical music concerts.
