1. Konda Surekha resigned as MLA in 2011 due to dissatisfaction with the Congress party’s leadership and wanted her son Jaganmohan Reddy to become Chief Minister after Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy's death.
2. She left the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party in 2013 due to mistreatment from party workers.
3. In 2014, she won the Telangana Legislative Assembly election from Warangal East with a margin of 55,085 votes as a Bharat Rashtra Samithi candidate.
4. Konda Surekha and her husband left the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in 2018 due to being denied a ticket and expressed feeling betrayed by the party.
