Aakash developed an interest in acting during his childhood by participating in local competitions at the Ganpati festival.

His journey began with a modest income of Rs 1200 for his role as a background dancer in a theatre play.
He gained prominence after auditioning for a role in the film '3 Idiots' while studying in college.
Over the years, he has appeared in notable Hindi films such as 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' (2012), 'Boss' (2013), 'Stree' (2018), 'Shukranu' (2020), and 'Stree 2' (2024).
In 2014, he ventured into writing with the short film 'People on the Road' and has also acted in several Hindi short films.
