1. Vangaveeti Ranga was born in Katuru near Vuyyuru in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh.
2. He was the youngest of his 4 brothers.
3. Ranga entered politics after his elder brother Vangaveeti Radhakrishna was killed.
4. In 1981, his political career started when Congress withdrew its official candidate in Ranga’s favor in the Vijayawada.
5. Vangaveeti Ranga's biggest rival was Devineni Rajasekhar.
6. In 1988, he started a bus tour - Jana Chaitanya Yatra to highlight the autocratic rule of N. T. Rama Rao.
7. In the early hours of 25 December 1988, he was attacked and murdered during a hunger strike demanding greater personal protection.
8. Chalasani Venkata Ratnam of CPI Party supported his family when they came to Vijayawada.
