Padmavati, also known as Padmini or Rani Padmini, was a legendary queen of Chittor in Mewar.
She is the central figure in the epic poem Padmavat by 16th-century Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi.
Her story involves beauty, valor, and the historic Jauhar during Alauddin Khilji's siege of Chittor in 1303.
She was known for her exceptional beauty, education in war strategies, and her role in leading approximately 1,600 women in mass self-immolation to protect their honor.
