3. On June 12, 2003, he was promoted to the rank of Captain, and then to Major on June 12, 2005.
4. Sandeep excelled in the 'Ghatak Course' during his NSG training.
5. During the 2008 Mumbai attacks, he led a team of NSG commandos.

7. During Operation Vijay (Kargil War) in July 1999, he served at forward posts under intense enemy fire and led a daring mission on 31 December 1999 to establish a post 200 meters from enemy positions.

9. He rescued an injured commando and multiple hostages during the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
